Les directeurs ont aussi indiqu\u00e9 l\u2019utilisation par les \u00e9l\u00e8ves du bar \u00e0 salades de la caf\u00e9t\u00e9ria avait presque doubl\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Les bienfaits d\u2019un jardin en milieu scolaire pour la sant\u00e9 des \u00e9l\u00e8ves se refl\u00e9taient aussi dans leur nutrition. L\u2019\u00e9tude a \u00e9t\u00e9 men\u00e9e aupr\u00e8s d\u2019\u00e9coliers de quatri\u00e8me ann\u00e9e avant et apr\u00e8s l\u2019int\u00e9gration du jardin d\u2019\u00e9cole au programme scolaire. Le jardinage allie l\u2019activit\u00e9 physique aux avantages du plein air.<\/p>\n<p>Un jardin exige un entretien quotidien pour donner une r\u00e9colte abondante. Un jardin soigneusement entretenu procure des r\u00e9compenses qui peuvent certes motiver le jardinier \u00e0 se mettre \u00e0 l\u2019ouvrage. \u00a0Le jardinage est une forme d\u2019exercice cardiovasculaire mod\u00e9r\u00e9 pour l\u2019organisme. Tout genre d\u2019exercice, y compris le jardinage, r\u00e9duit le risque de maladie cardiaque et peut accro\u00eetre la force et l\u2019\u00e9nergie.<\/p>\n<p>Il peut \u00eatre difficile pour les personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es de trouver un programme d\u2019exercice r\u00e9gulier qu\u2019ils se sentent aptes \u00e0 suivre. Le jardinage est un excellent exercice fonctionnel pour tous, y compris les a\u00een\u00e9s. \u00a0L\u2019exercice fonctionnel regroupe des activit\u00e9s comme les \u00e9tirements, les exercices de musculation, la lev\u00e9e de poids, les redressements, etc. Toutes ces activit\u00e9s am\u00e9liorent le tonus musculaire, la souplesse et l\u2019\u00e9tat de bien-\u00eatre g\u00e9n\u00e9ral.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Le jardinage\u00a0: une meilleure auto-perception de la sant\u00e9 mentale<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>On dit aussi du jardinage qu\u2019il fait du bien \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e2me. De nombreux aspects de cette activit\u00e9 appuient la v\u00e9racit\u00e9 de cette croyance.<\/p>\n<p>Le jardinage favorise la sant\u00e9 mentale et physique. L\u2019entretien d\u2019un jardin favorise une interaction r\u00e9guli\u00e8re avec la nature. C\u2019est aussi une occasion de se mettre au service des gens. Jardiner permet tout simplement de se sentir bien.<\/p>\n<p>Un certain nombre d\u2019\u00e9tudes\u00a0 r\u00e9centes viennent confirmer la tr\u00e8s grande importance de la relation entre l\u2019\u00eatre humain et la nature. \u00a0Une immersion en milieu naturel, notamment dans un jardin, ouvre la porte \u00e0 une cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9 qui permet de s\u2019\u00e9panouir. L\u2019intellect et l\u2019esprit se ressourcent lorsque la technologie est mise de c\u00f4t\u00e9 au profit de travaux au jardin.<\/p>\n<p>Le jardinage exige un effort physique qui aide \u00e0 conserver une tension art\u00e9rielle dans la norme et \u00e0 accro\u00eetre la production d\u2019endorphines. Comme ces derni\u00e8res aident \u00e0 donner une sensation de joie et de vitalit\u00e9, \u00a0on les appelle parfois les hormones \u00ab du sentiment de bien-\u00eatre \u00bb. Les endorphines sont aussi essentielles pour r\u00e9duire le stress, d\u2019o\u00f9 la multitude de gens qui choisissent le jardinage comme passe-temps pour soulager le stress.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Le jardinage\u00a0: pour stimuler l\u2019esprit communautaire et l\u2019engagement citoyen<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>En plus d\u2019att\u00e9nuer le stress, le jardinage est une fa\u00e7on de servir autrui. Bon nombre de participants \u00e0 un jardin communautaire offrent la r\u00e9colte exc\u00e9dentaire de fruits et l\u00e9gumes aux amis et aux voisins. Cet engagement et ce service \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard de la communaut\u00e9 contribuent \u00e0 un bon \u00e9tat d\u2019esprit et au resserrement des liens communautaires.<\/p>\n<p>Le jardin communautaire a gagn\u00e9 en popularit\u00e9 dans les voisinages \u00e9loign\u00e9s d\u2019une source fiable de produits frais, comme un march\u00e9 fermier ou une \u00e9picerie. L\u2019acc\u00e8s \u00e0 un jardin communautaire est souvent gratuit ou on peut y participer \u00e0 frais modiques.<\/p>\n<p>Bon nombre de communaut\u00e9s aux \u00c9tats-Unis et ailleurs ont adopt\u00e9 des mod\u00e8les de jardin communautaire. Signalons l\u2019initiative California Healthy Cities de 1988 qui a \u00e9tabli des jardins communautaires enti\u00e8rement fonctionnels et anim\u00e9s partout dans l\u2019\u00c9tat. Financ\u00e9s gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des subventions et \u00e0 m\u00eame les budgets municipaux, ces jardins sont entretenus par des b\u00e9n\u00e9voles et des jardiniers sp\u00e9cialistes.<\/p>\n<p>Les programmes locaux permettent aux membres de la communaut\u00e9 d\u2019acc\u00e9der \u00e0 des cours de cuisine, \u00e0 des instructions de pr\u00e9paration de repas sains et \u00e0 des conseils de jardinage. Les possibilit\u00e9s d\u2019apprentissage pour les participants, le b\u00e9n\u00e9volat et l\u2019engagement des diverses instances locales ont certes assur\u00e9 le succ\u00e8s des jardins communautaires.<\/p>\n<p>Comme les jardins communautaires favorisent la sant\u00e9 publique et une excellente qualit\u00e9 de vie, ils continuent \u00e0 prosp\u00e9rer dans des villes du monde entier. En plus de favoriser une alimentation et un mode de vie sains, l\u2019engagement communautaire ainsi que la fiert\u00e9 civique et celle du voisinage, ces jardins contribuent aussi \u00e0 la durabilit\u00e9 environnementale et au milieu de vie.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>En r\u00e9sum\u00e9<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Qu\u2019il soit domestique ou communautaire, le jardin permet un excellent apprentissage de la sant\u00e9 et d&#8217;une saine alimentation. L\u2019activit\u00e9 au jardin soulage le stress et constitue un exercice physique r\u00e9gulier.\u00a0 Le jardinage nous permet aussi d\u2019approfondir notre relation avec la nature, relation qui a une capacit\u00e9 \u00e9prouv\u00e9e d&#8217;am\u00e9liorer la sant\u00e9 mentale. Le temps de qualit\u00e9 pass\u00e9 au jardin entra\u00eene l\u2019engagement communautaire et la fiert\u00e9 partag\u00e9e entre voisins.
