Un apport alimentaire inad\u00e9quat en Mg a \u00e9t\u00e9 associ\u00e9 \u00e0 bon nombre de maladies inflammatoires chroniques ou m\u00e9taboliques comme l\u2019hypertension, le syndrome m\u00e9tabolique, le diab\u00e8te de type\u00a02, l\u2019ost\u00e9oporose, les maladies cardiovasculaires et m\u00eame certains cancers. Le magn\u00e9sium est surtout pr\u00e9sent dans les aliments sains, comme les grains entiers, les l\u00e9gumes feuillus verts, les noix et les l\u00e9gumineuses. Selon les estimations, la teneur en magn\u00e9sium du r\u00e9gime alimentaire de 75\u00a0% de la population am\u00e9ricaine est inf\u00e9rieure au niveau minimal recommand\u00e9 (ANR).<\/p>\n<p>Dans une nouvelle m\u00e9ta-analyse publi\u00e9e dans le <em>European Journal of Clinical Nutrition<\/em>, des chercheurs ont \u00e9tudi\u00e9 le lien potentiel entre l\u2019apport alimentaire en Mg et la prot\u00e9ine C-r\u00e9active (CRP), un marqueur d\u2019inflammation, chez pr\u00e8s de 33\u00a0000 adultes participant \u00e0 sept \u00e9tudes transversales. Dans les \u00e9tudes d\u2019intervention, l\u2019apport en magn\u00e9sium variait de 50 \u00e0 450\u00a0mg par jour pendant une p\u00e9riode relativement courte allant jusqu\u2019\u00e0 quatre mois.<\/p>\n<p>Ces \u00e9tudes ont mis en \u00e9vidence un effet potentiellement b\u00e9n\u00e9fique de l\u2019apport en Mg sur les niveaux de la CRP s\u00e9rique. Les \u00e9tudes d\u2019observation ont montr\u00e9 que le groupe \u00e0 l\u2019apport en Mg le plus bas \u00e9tait 49\u00a0% plus susceptible de pr\u00e9senter un niveau de CRP sup\u00e9rieur ou \u00e9gal \u00e0 3\u00a0mg\/L (indiquant la pr\u00e9sence d\u2019inflammation).<\/p>\n<p>Cette m\u00e9ta-analyse met en \u00e9vidence le lien entre un apport faible en Mg et une activit\u00e9 accrue des marqueurs d\u2019inflammation. Les chercheurs donnent \u00e0 entendre que l\u2019effet potentiellement b\u00e9n\u00e9fique de l\u2019apport en Mg sur les maladies chroniques peut se traduire du moins en partie par une diminution de l\u2019inflammation.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/24518747\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dibaba DT, Xun P, He K.
