Les participantes \u00e9taient r\u00e9parties en trois groupes auxquels on a administr\u00e9 respectivement un suppl\u00e9ment de multivitamines et min\u00e9raux, 162 mg de calcium ou un placebo par jour. Les facteurs suivants ont \u00e9t\u00e9 mesur\u00e9s au d\u00e9but et \u00e0 la fin de la p\u00e9riode de l&#8217;\u00e9tude : le poids corporel, l&#8217;indice de masse corporelle (IMC), la masse graisseuse, le tissu maigre, la d\u00e9pense \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique au repos, la tension art\u00e9rielle, le taux \u00e0 jeun de glucose plasmatique et d&#8217;insuline s\u00e9rique, les taux de cholest\u00e9rol LDL et HDL et les triglyc\u00e9rides.<\/p>\n<p>Au bout de 26 semaines, le poids corporel, l&#8217;IMC, la masse graisseuse, ainsi que les taux de cholest\u00e9rol total et LDL \u00e9taient significativement plus faibles chez les sujets ayant pris un suppl\u00e9ment de multivitamines et min\u00e9raux, tandis que leur d\u00e9pense d&#8217;\u00e9nergie au repos et leur taux de cholest\u00e9rol HDL \u00e9taient plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s que dans le groupe placebo. Ces sujets \u00e9taient aussi plus susceptibles d&#8217;avoir un tour de taille r\u00e9duit. Chez les sujets ayant pris du calcium, le taux de cholest\u00e9rol HDL \u00e9tait aussi plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 et celui du cholest\u00e9rol LDL plus faible que dans le groupe placebo.<\/p>\n<p>Ces r\u00e9sultats semblent indiquer que la prise d&#8217;un suppl\u00e9ment de multivitamines et min\u00e9raux pourrait aider \u00e0 r\u00e9duire le poids corporel et l&#8217;ob\u00e9sit\u00e9, en plus d&#8217;am\u00e9liorer le profil lipidique s\u00e9rique chez les femmes ob\u00e8ses, possiblement en raison de la d\u00e9pense d&#8217;\u00e9nergie accrue et de l&#8217;oxydation du gras corporel.<\/p>\n<p>La corr\u00e9lation entre l&#8217;\u00e9tat inad\u00e9quat des nutriments et l&#8217;ob\u00e9sit\u00e9 a \u00e9t\u00e9 renforc\u00e9e par une nouvelle \u00e9tude portant sur des souris.
