Apr\u00e8s la naissance, il devient toutefois difficile de conserver un bon apport de vitamine D chez les nourrissons allait\u00e9s et c\u2019est pourquoi on recommande g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement de leur en donner sous forme de suppl\u00e9ment.<\/p>\n<p>Selon une \u00e9tude du <em>American Journal of Clinical Nutrition<\/em> publi\u00e9e en ligne, des chercheurs ont tent\u00e9 de d\u00e9terminer l\u2019effet sur le taux s\u00e9rique de la vitamine D chez le nourrisson de trois doses diff\u00e9rentes d\u2019un suppl\u00e9ment maternel de vitamine D pris pendant la grossesse et dans les huit semaines suivant l\u2019accouchement.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019\u00e9tude regroupait 226 femmes enceintes dont l\u2019\u00e9tat de sant\u00e9 \u00e9tait normal. On leur a administr\u00e9 au hasard une dose quotidienne de 400, 1\u00a0000 ou 2 000 UI de vitamine D, \u00e0 partir du deuxi\u00e8me trimestre de leur grossesse jusqu\u2019\u00e0 huit semaines apr\u00e8s la naissance. Les nourrissons ne prenaient aucun suppl\u00e9ment de vitamine D. \u00c0 des fins d\u2019analyse, des pr\u00e9l\u00e8vements sanguins ont \u00e9t\u00e9 effectu\u00e9s \u00e0 la fin de ces huit semaines.<\/p>\n<p>Chez les nourrissons dont la m\u00e8re avait re\u00e7u un apport quotidien de 2 000 UI, le taux s\u00e9rique moyen de vitamine D \u00e9tait plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 (75\u00a0mmol\/L ou 30\u00a0ng\/ml) que chez ceux dont les m\u00e8res avaient re\u00e7u un apport quotidien de 1 000 UI (52\u00a0mmol\/L ou 20,8\u00a0ng\/ml) ou de 400 UI (45\u00a0mmol\/L ou 18\u00a0ng\/ml). On a rapport\u00e9 une carence chez seulement 2\u00a0% des nourrissons de m\u00e8res ayant pris 2 000 UI ( 75\u00a0mmol\/L (30\u00a0ng\/ml), comparativement \u00e0 43\u00a0% des b\u00e9b\u00e9s de m\u00e8res ayant re\u00e7u un apport quotidien de 1 000 UI. Dans ce groupe de m\u00e8res, le niveau moyen de vitamine D \u00e9tait de 88\u00a0mmol\/L (35,2\u00a0ng\/ml) apr\u00e8s huit semaines suivant l\u2019accouchement, tandis que dans les groupes de celles ayant pris 1 000 UI et 400 UI, les niveaux moyens de vitamine D \u00e9taient plus faibles, \u00e9tant respectivement de 78\u00a0mmol\/L (31,2\u00a0ng\/ml) et de 69\u00a0mmol\/L (27,6\u00a0ng\/ml).<\/p>\n<p>Les r\u00e9sultats de cette \u00e9tude indiquent que la prise quotidienne d\u2019un suppl\u00e9ment de 2\u00a0000 UI de vitamine D est n\u00e9cessaire pendant la grossesse et dans les huit premi\u00e8res semaines d\u2019allaitement pour prot\u00e9ger contre la carence en vitamine D 98\u00a0% des nourrissons qui ne re\u00e7oivent pas de suppl\u00e9ment. Pr\u00e8s de la moiti\u00e9 des nourrissons n\u2019ayant pas pris de vitamine D et n\u00e9s de m\u00e8res \u00e0 qui on a administr\u00e9 un suppl\u00e9ment quotidien de 400 UI souffraient d\u2019une carence en vitamine D apr\u00e8s huit semaines d\u2019allaitement.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/26156737\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">March KM, Chen NN, Karakochuk CD, et al. Maternal vitamin D\u2083 supplementation at 50 \u03bcg\/d protects against low serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D in infants at 8 wk of age: a randomized controlled trial of 3 doses of vitamin D beginning in gestation and continued in lactation.
