Par contre, un stress intense peut nous donner l\u2019impression de perdre tous nos moyens et m\u00eame d\u2019\u00eatre malade, compte tenu des effets n\u00e9fastes importants du stress sur \u00a0la fonction immunitaire.<\/p>\n<p>Quand on y pense, il arrive rarement qu&#8217;on se sente en pleine forme et stress\u00e9 au m\u00eame moment, n\u2019est-ce pas? En fait, le stress qui s\u2019exerce sur le corps et l\u2019esprit peut affaiblir votre syst\u00e8me immunitaire. Votre organisme fonctionne alors \u00e0 plein r\u00e9gime afin de fournir l\u2019\u00e9nergie n\u00e9cessaire pour combattre les facteurs de stress, ce qui fait que la force de votre immunit\u00e9 s\u2019en trouve amoindrie.<\/p>\n<p>Aussi rudimentaire que soit cette explication, c\u2019est un bon point de d\u00e9part pour voir de plus pr\u00e8s les effets du stress sur la fonction immunitaire. Les stresseurs sont de deux ordres\u00a0: physiques et psychologiques. Un stresseur physique agit sur le corps, tandis qu\u2019un stresseur psychologique agit sur l\u2019esprit.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hypothalamus :<\/strong> Un centre de commandement important dans le cerveau. Un peu plus gros qu&#8217;une pi\u00e8ce de dix cents et situ\u00e9s au milieu du cerveau, il contr\u00f4le l\u2019activit\u00e9 de la glande pituitaire et r\u00e9gule la faim, la soif, le sommeil, la temp\u00e9rature corporelle et d&#8217;une foule d&#8217;\u00e9motions.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Glande pituitaire :<\/strong> La glande ma\u00eetresse responsable de la lib\u00e9ration de la plupart des hormones dans l\u2019organisme.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Glandes surr\u00e9nales :<\/strong> Des glandes triangulaires situ\u00e9es au-dessus des reins qui lib\u00e8rent le cortisol.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cortisol :<\/strong> La principale hormone lib\u00e9r\u00e9e dans le sang en r\u00e9ponse au stress.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>Comment l\u2019organisme fait face au stress\u00a0 <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Votre organisme a un protocole int\u00e9gr\u00e9 de r\u00e9ponse qui entre en fonction chaque fois que le stress se manifeste. \u00a0Ce processus s&#8217;amorce d\u00e8s qu\u2019un stresseur exerce une pression sur l\u2019esprit ou le corps.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019hypothalamus est la partie du cerveau qui reconna\u00eet le stress. D\u00e8s qu\u2019il d\u00e9tecte un stresseur, il envoie un message par l&#8217;entremise des neurones \u00e0 une zone avoisinante du cerveau appel\u00e9e glande pituitaire. Celle-ci enregistre les signaux re\u00e7us de l\u2019hypothalamus et indique alors aux glandes surr\u00e9nales (au-dessus des reins) d\u2019accro\u00eetre la quantit\u00e9 d\u2019hormones du stress en circulation dans le sang.<\/p>\n<p>Voil\u00e0 les notions de base de la r\u00e9ponse naturelle de l\u2019organisme au stress. Pour mieux les comprendre et \u00e9tablir le lien entre stress et fonction immunitaire, \u00e9tudions de plus pr\u00e8s la principale hormone du stress\u00a0: le cortisol.<\/p>\n<p>Cette <a href=\"https:\/\/askthescientists.com\/fr\/hormones\/\">hormone <\/a>importante agit en haussant votre niveau d\u2019\u00e9nergie en p\u00e9riode de stress. Les effets du cortisol sont temporaires et d\u00e8s que le stress se dissipe, le regain d&#8217;\u00e9nergie qu\u2019il procure cesse.<\/p>\n<p>En r\u00e9duisant les activit\u00e9s non essentielles de l\u2019organisme, le cortisol l\u2019aide aussi \u00e0 g\u00e9rer le stress. Du m\u00eame coup, il met malheureusement sur pause une partie de la fonction immunitaire. Le cortisol tente ainsi de conserver l\u2019\u00e9nergie en pr\u00e9sence d\u2019un stress, mais la p\u00e9riode stressante ouvre ainsi la porte aux germes.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Les effets du stress sur la fonction immunitaire<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>En pr\u00e9sence d\u2019un stresseur de courte dur\u00e9e &#8211; par exemple un retard \u00e0 un rendez-vous ou la participation \u00e0 un triathlon &#8211; l\u2019action du cortisol est temporaire et ses effets sur l\u2019immunit\u00e9 sont n\u00e9gligeables. Par contre, si le stress se prolonge sur plusieurs jours ou des semaines, un taux plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 de cortisol peut avoir des effets plus nocifs.<\/p>\n<p>Un taux \u00e9lev\u00e9 de cortisol neutralise <a href=\"https:\/\/askthescientists.com\/fr\/immune-system\/\">votre syst\u00e8me immunitaire <\/a>en r\u00e9duisant la production de globules blancs. Comme ces derniers ne pourchassent plus les germes, la r\u00e9ponse \u00e0 l\u2019infection est beaucoup plus lente. Si votre taux de cortisol demeure \u00e9lev\u00e9 pendant une longue p\u00e9riode, vous devenez plus vuln\u00e9rable \u00e0 certaines maladies que vous n\u2019auriez pas attrap\u00e9es autrement. C&#8217;est ce qui explique qu&#8217;on soit sujet au rhume apr\u00e8s une longue p\u00e9riode de stress intense.<\/p>\n<p>Les \u00e9tudiants qui pr\u00e9parent leurs examens de fin d\u2019ann\u00e9e en sont un bon exemple. En effet, ils sont nombreux \u00e0 se retrouver enrhum\u00e9s dans les jours suivants la fin des cours.\u00a0 Voici ce qui se passe :<\/p>\n<p>Un stresseur (l&#8217;examen) d\u00e9clenche la r\u00e9ponse au stress de leur organisme. Pendant qu\u2019ils \u00e9tudient, le taux de cortisol s\u2019\u00e9l\u00e8ve et demeure en hausse pendant une plus longue p\u00e9riode, peut-\u00eatre m\u00eame quelques semaines. Pendant cette p\u00e9riode de stress, leur syst\u00e8me immunitaire est neutralis\u00e9 pour permettre au cerveau de canaliser la plus grande quantit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9nergie disponible afin de combattre le stress caus\u00e9 par un examen de fin d\u2019ann\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>Un fonctionnement aussi affaibli permet aux germes de s\u2019infiltrer facilement dans les tissus sains et d&#8217;entra\u00eener des <a href=\"https:\/\/askthescientists.com\/fr\/common-virus-questions\/\">maladies comme le rhume<\/a>. Il ne manque pas d&#8217;activit\u00e9s \u00e0 essayer pour vous aider \u00e0 att\u00e9nuer le stress, et qui\u00a0 sont aussi b\u00e9n\u00e9fiques pour votre \u00e9tat de sant\u00e9 g\u00e9n\u00e9ral.<\/p>\n<p>La m\u00e9ditation est l\u2019une des strat\u00e9gies les plus efficaces pour la gestion du stress. Quelques minutes par jour de concentration m\u00e9ditative peuvent abaisser sensiblement le taux de cortisol sanguin et vous procurer un sentiment de qui\u00e9tude et de s\u00e9r\u00e9nit\u00e9. La m\u00e9ditation peut aussi \u00eatre b\u00e9n\u00e9fique pour votre immunit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Dans le cadre d\u2019une \u00e9tude, des chercheurs ont constat\u00e9 que des sujets qui pratiquaient la m\u00e9ditation tous les jours d\u00e9veloppaient plus d\u2019anticorps contre la grippe que d&#8217;autres qui ne le faisaient pas. Conclusion : isolez-vous quelques minutes chaque du monde affair\u00e9 qui vous entoure, en prenant soin de vous tourner vers la m\u00e9ditation lorsque vous vous sentez stress\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019exercice est aussi un moyen \u00e9prouv\u00e9 d\u2019att\u00e9nuer le stress.
