Et assur\u00e9ment l\u2019un des plus importants. Bien comprendre la structure de la peau, voil\u00e0 le premier pas pour pr\u00e9server le bon \u00e9tat de cette armure contre les m\u00e9faits du monde ext\u00e9rieur.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>La peau\u00a0: sa raison d\u2019\u00eatre<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>La peau comprend une bonne partie du syst\u00e8me t\u00e9gumentaire qui englobe aussi les cheveux, les ongles et les glandes qui produisent la sueur et l\u2019huile. La protection, la r\u00e9gulation et la sensation sont les trois principales fonctions de ce syst\u00e8me organique.<\/p>\n<p>Dans ce syst\u00e8me, la fonction premi\u00e8re de la peau consiste \u00e0 agir comme une barri\u00e8re de protection contre divers \u00e9l\u00e9ments environnementaux\u00a0: temp\u00e9rature, bact\u00e9ries, substances chimiques, soleil et plus encore. De plus, les vaisseaux sanguins cutan\u00e9s aident \u00e0 r\u00e9guler la temp\u00e9rature du corps, tandis que la peau entrepose la lumi\u00e8re du soleil servant \u00e0 la fabrication de la vitamine D par l\u2019organisme.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Les couches de la peau<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-11505\" src=\"https:\/\/askthescientists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/skin-layers-1030x858.jpg\" alt=\"skin layers\" width=\"1030\" height=\"858\" srcset=\"https:\/\/askthescientists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/skin-layers-1030x858.jpg 1030w, https:\/\/askthescientists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/skin-layers-300x250.jpg 300w, https:\/\/askthescientists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/skin-layers-768x640.jpg 768w, https:\/\/askthescientists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/skin-layers-1500x1250.jpg 1500w, https:\/\/askthescientists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/skin-layers-705x588.jpg 705w, https:\/\/askthescientists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/skin-layers-450x375.jpg 450w, https:\/\/askthescientists.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/skin-layers.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1030px) 100vw, 1030px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>La peau exerce plusieurs fonctions importantes dans lesquelles interviennent chacune de ses trois couches.<\/p>\n<h3><em>L\u2019\u00e9piderme<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>L\u2019\u00e9piderme est la couche sup\u00e9rieure de la peau. Fait de millions de cellules cellulaires retenues ensemble par des lipides, il constitue une barri\u00e8re r\u00e9siliente, tout en r\u00e9gulant la quantit\u00e9 d\u2019eau \u00e9limin\u00e9e de l\u2019organisme.<\/p>\n<p>La couche la plus superficielle de l\u2019\u00e9piderme, la couche corn\u00e9e (<em>stratum corneum<\/em>), est constitu\u00e9e de couches de cellules aplaties. En dessous, de nouvelles cellules cutan\u00e9es sont fabriqu\u00e9es par la couche basale compos\u00e9e de prot\u00e9ines rang\u00e9es en colonnes. C\u2019est la seule des cinq couches de l\u2019\u00e9piderme qui produit la mitose (la division du noyau cellulaire). Les cellules cutan\u00e9es les plus vieilles tombent de la couche sup\u00e9rieure pour \u00eatre remplac\u00e9es par de nouvelles qui remontent\u00a0 de la couche basale.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019\u00e9piderme est constitu\u00e9 de quatre types de cellules, la plupart \u00e9tant des k\u00e9ratinocytes qui forment une barri\u00e8re protectrice hydrofuge. La m\u00e9lanine \u2013 ou pigment cutan\u00e9 \u2013 est produite dans les m\u00e9lanocytes \u00e9pidermiques. La r\u00e9ponse immunitaire et la sensation constituent les fonctions respectives des cellules de Langerhans et de Merkel.<\/p>\n<h3><em>Le derme<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>La couche suivante est le derme. Sous l\u2019\u00e9piderme, il assume des fonctions diverses.<\/p>\n<p>C\u2019est la couche o\u00f9 logent les racines des cheveux, les terminaisons nerveuses, les vaisseaux sanguins et les glandes sudoripares. Ces derni\u00e8res aident \u00e0 r\u00e9guler la temp\u00e9rature corporelle et \u00e0 \u00e9vacuer les d\u00e9chets de l\u2019organisme. On trouve aussi dans le derme les glandes s\u00e9bac\u00e9es (de nature huileuse) qui conservent \u00e0 la peau son aspect satin\u00e9 et lisse, tout en contribuant \u00e0 son \u00e9tanch\u00e9it\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Le derme a deux composants \u2013 papillaire et r\u00e9ticulaire. Le derme papillaire renferme les connexions interreli\u00e9es qui aident \u00e0 approvisionner l\u2019\u00e9piderme en sang et en nutriments. Le derme r\u00e9ticulaire est la strate plus profonde et plus \u00e9paisse o\u00f9 logent des constituants essentiels comme le collag\u00e8ne et l\u2019\u00e9lastine qui assurent la souplesse et la r\u00e9sistance de la peau. Les glandes et follicules pileux se trouvent aussi dans le derme r\u00e9ticulaire.<\/p>\n<h3><em>L\u2019hypoderme ou tissu sous-cutan\u00e9<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>Couche inf\u00e9rieure du syst\u00e8me t\u00e9gumentaire, le tissu sous-cutan\u00e9 sert surtout au stockage des graisses. Renfermant le tissu conjonctif qui rattache le derme aux muscles et aux os, ce tissu appel\u00e9 aussi hypoderme assure un soutien aux vaisseaux sanguins, aux nerfs et aux glandes dermiques.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Principaux composants de la matrice cutan\u00e9e<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>La matrice cutan\u00e9e est un ensemble de prot\u00e9ines, lipides et peptides constituant une source de r\u00e9silience et de stabilit\u00e9. Voici les principaux composants de cette structure de soutien :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00c9lastine \u2013 une prot\u00e9ine formant le tissu conjonctif \u00e9lastique du derme<\/li>\n<li>K\u00e9ratine \u2013 une importante prot\u00e9ine structurelle formant la couche sup\u00e9rieure de la peau<\/li>\n<li>Collag\u00e8ne \u2013 un acide amin\u00e9 \u00e0 cha\u00eene longue constituant la plupart des prot\u00e9ines cutan\u00e9es<\/li>\n<li>Lipides \u2013 le \u00ab mortier \u00bb naturel qui aide \u00e0 retenir l\u2019hydratation et \u00e0 lier les cellules les unes aux autres<\/li>\n<li>Peptides \u2013 des cha\u00eenes d\u2019acides amin\u00e9s signalant aux cellules comment elles doivent fonctionner<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>L\u2019information, un atout pr\u00e9cieux<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Ces connaissances de base permettent de mieux comprendre la fa\u00e7on de traiter et pr\u00e9server ad\u00e9quatement la peau.
