Les adultes ob\u00e8ses g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement en bonne sant\u00e9 ont \u00e9t\u00e9 plac\u00e9s dans deux groupes al\u00e9atoirement. Les adultes affect\u00e9s au groupe du r\u00e9gime hypocalorique \u00e0 base de soja ont consomm\u00e9 seulement de la prot\u00e9ine de soja et les adultes affect\u00e9s au groupe suivant un r\u00e9gime hypocalorique traditionnel ont consomm\u00e9 deux tiers de prot\u00e9ines animales et le reste en prot\u00e9ines v\u00e9g\u00e9tales. Les deux r\u00e9gimes, qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 maintenus pendant 8 semaines, comptaient environ 1 200 calories.<\/p>\n<p>Les deux groupes ont d\u00e9montr\u00e9 une nette r\u00e9duction au niveau du poids, de l&#8217;indice de masse corporelle, du pourcentage de graisse corporelle et du tour de taille. La diminution du pourcentage de graisse corporelle chez le groupe suivant le r\u00e9gime \u00e0 base de soja \u00e9tait sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 celle du groupe traditionnel. Les concentrations s\u00e9riques de cholest\u00e9rol totales, les concentrations de cholest\u00e9rol LDL et les param\u00e8tres de la fonction h\u00e9patique ont diminu\u00e9 dans le groupe du r\u00e9gime \u00e0 base de soja, alors que ces diff\u00e9rents indicateurs \u00e9taient nettement diff\u00e9rents de ceux pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s par le r\u00e9gime traditionnel.
