{"id":2012,"date":"2016-06-07T20:42:58","date_gmt":"2016-06-07T20:42:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/askthescientists.com\/es\/?post_type=qa&#038;p=2012"},"modified":"2019-12-19T11:59:38","modified_gmt":"2019-12-19T18:59:38","slug":"que-es-el-orac","status":"publish","type":"qa","link":"https:\/\/askthescientists.com\/es\/qa\/que-es-el-orac\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00bfQu\u00e9 es el ORAC?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>La capacidad de absorci\u00f3n de radicales de ox\u00edgeno (ORAC, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s) es un an\u00e1lisis de laboratorio que ofrece una medici\u00f3n general de la actividad antioxidante de un alimento.\u00a0 El an\u00e1lisis consiste en someter un producto alimenticio a un agente oxidante, y luego se mide la capacidad general de ese alimento para resistir la oxidaci\u00f3n.\u00a0 Mientras m\u00e1s alto sea el puntaje del ORAC, mayor es la capacidad antioxidante del alimento.\u00a0 Se han desarrollado varias medidas de actividad antioxidante &#8220;total&#8221;.\u00a0 Ninguna es definitiva, pero el ORAC es el que ha logrado m\u00e1s aceptaci\u00f3n en los c\u00edrculos comerciales.<\/p>\n<p>Las pruebas de ORAC con frecuencia son usadas para comparar la actividad antioxidante de diferentes alimentos (frutas, verduras, jugos, vinos, etc.).
