S\u00edndrome metab\u00f3lico es el nombre de un grupo de factores de riesgo que se presentan juntos e incrementan el riesgo de enfermedad coronaria, infarto y diabetes tipo 2.<\/p>\n<p>Los participantes de este estudio transversal, doble ciego, fueron 24 varones de entre 30 y 70 a\u00f1os de edad asignados aleatoriamente para tomar un producto de polifenoles de uva o un placebo durante 30 d\u00edas. Hubo un periodo de depuraci\u00f3n de tres semanas entre tratamientos. Los varones siguieron con su nivel de actividad f\u00edsica y su dieta normales. Tambi\u00e9n se les indic\u00f3 que durante el periodo de prueba evitaran alimentos ricos en polifenoles.<\/p>\n<p>Al final de cada periodo dietario, se med\u00eda la presi\u00f3n sangu\u00ednea y se aplicaban diversas pruebas para analizar el funcionamiento vascular. Comparado con el periodo de placebo, el periodo de tratamiento con polifenoles de la uva result\u00f3 en presi\u00f3n sangu\u00ednea sist\u00f3lica m\u00e1s baja e incremento del flujo sangu\u00edneo en las arterias braquiales (brazo). Tambi\u00e9n en dicho periodo se redujo un indicador de plaquetas \u201cpegajosas\u201d, conocido como sICAM-1.<\/p>\n<p>Los resultados de este estudio indican que los polifenoles de la uva pueden influir positivamente en la vasorrelajaci\u00f3n, as\u00ed como reducir la presi\u00f3n sangu\u00ednea y las mol\u00e9culas de adhesi\u00f3n celular circulantes, de tal forma que, en general, mejora la salud y el funcionamiento vasculares, especialmente en varones con s\u00edndrome metab\u00f3lico.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/22810991\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Barona J, Aristizabal JC, Blesso CN, Volek JS, Fernandez ML.
