La rigidez arterial es un factor de riesgo espec\u00edfico en las ECV, pero hasta el momento no se hab\u00eda establecido un v\u00ednculo espec\u00edfico entre la ingesta de omega-3 y las mejoras en la rigidez arterial.<\/p>\n<p>Por medio de un metan\u00e1lisis, investigadores recientemente realizaron un estudio para cuantificar los efectos de los omega-3 sobre la rigidez arterial y su asociaci\u00f3n con las ECV. Se utilizaron m\u00faltiples bases de datos y registros de ensayos cl\u00ednicos para obtener datos de ensayos cl\u00ednicos controlados aleatorios de seres humanos adultos sobre el v\u00ednculo entre la rigidez arterial y la ingesta de omega-3. Un total de 10 ensayos cumplieron los criterios de inclusi\u00f3n final. Los estudios arrojaron resultados al utilizar tanto la velocidad de onda de pulso (VOP) como la distensibilidad arterial para medir la rigidez arterial.<\/p>\n<p>El metan\u00e1lisis confirm\u00f3 que la suplementaci\u00f3n de \u00e1cidos grasos omega-3 era eficaz para mejorar significativamente la rigidez arterial medida a trav\u00e9s de la VOP y la distensibilidad arterial. Los resultados no fueron condicionados cuando se tomaron en cuenta los cambios en la presi\u00f3n arterial, la frecuencia card\u00edaca o el IMC.<\/p>\n<p>Los resultados del estudio actual demuestran que la suplementaci\u00f3n con \u00e1cidos grasos omega-3 (t\u00edpicamente provenientes de aceite de pescado) puede ayudar en parte a reducir el riesgo de enfermedades cardiovasculares reduciendo la rigidez arterial, un factor de riesgo conocido de las ECV.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/22005318\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pase MP, Grima NA, Sarris J.
