Sin embargo, quedarse pegado en esa acci\u00f3n puede da\u00f1ar sus esfuerzos por controlar su peso. Eso se debe a que ver televisi\u00f3n y subir de peso tienen relaciones interesantes.<\/p>\n<p>En un estudio se determin\u00f3 que ver dos o m\u00e1s horas de televisi\u00f3n al d\u00eda est\u00e1 ligado a altos \u00edndices de masa corporal (IMC)\u2014adem\u00e1s de grasa\u2014tanto en hombres como en mujeres. De manera que, si alguna vez se ha preguntado si ver un marat\u00f3n de su programa favorito lo est\u00e1 haciendo ganar peso, la respuesta puede ser \u201cs\u00ed\u201d. Y existen dos razones para eso: actividad y alimentaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>El tiempo que pasa frente a la televisi\u00f3n con frecuencia significa menos tiempo en movimiento. El comportamiento sedentario\u2014en oposici\u00f3n a la actividad f\u00edsica\u2014contribuye al aumento de peso, de manera que la relaci\u00f3n entre ver televisi\u00f3n y subir de peso hace sentido. Sin embargo, va m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de la comodidad del sof\u00e1.<\/p>\n<p>Diversos estudios han determinado que comer mientras se ve televisi\u00f3n resulta en un mayor consumo de calor\u00edas. En un estudio se determin\u00f3 que quienes ven m\u00e1s televisi\u00f3n ingieren m\u00e1s calor\u00edas como resultado del consumo de colaciones o de cenas muy vastas. Los hallazgos sugieren que la televisi\u00f3n parece aumentar el consumo de colaciones en general.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, algunos tipos de programaci\u00f3n han demostrado ser peores que otros.<\/p>\n<p>En un estudio llevado a cabo por la Universidad de Cornell se hizo una comparaci\u00f3n entre dos tipos de medios: una pel\u00edcula de acci\u00f3n y un <em>talk show.<\/em> Quer\u00edan determinar cu\u00e1l de estos estimulaba m\u00e1s el consumo de colaciones. \u00bfResultado? Quienes vieron la pel\u00edcula de acci\u00f3n comieron 98 por ciento m\u00e1s.<\/p>\n<p>Los autores del estudio atribuyen esta diferencia a la estimulaci\u00f3n y a la emoci\u00f3n de la pel\u00edcula o del programa de televisi\u00f3n. La acci\u00f3n constante \u2014y los cortes hacia diferentes \u00e1ngulos de la c\u00e1mara y escenas\u2014 provocan una mayor distracci\u00f3n. No prestar atenci\u00f3n a la comida que se est\u00e1 consumiendo se traduce en un consumo de colaciones o sobrealimentaci\u00f3n inconsciente. Otro estudio demostr\u00f3 que, si un personaje termina comiendo en una escena, los participantes en el estudio prefer\u00edan colaciones m\u00e1s dulces \u2014aquellas similares a un postre\u2014 que las colaciones saladas.<\/p>\n<p>Est\u00e1 claro que la televisi\u00f3n \u2014y los medios en general\u2014 pueden tener un enorme impacto en nuestra cintura. Sin embargo, eso no significa que debamos hacernos la vista gorda con la actual etapa dorada por la que pasa la televisi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Usted puede controlar su grabador de video digital y su peso al mismo tiempo. La clave es la moderaci\u00f3n, la alimentaci\u00f3n consciente y las colaciones saludables.
